Belly button rings break the age barrier

Belly button rings were once considered something for teens, but that’s no longer the case.

Belly button rings have been popular since the early 1990s, especially among those under the age of twenty. At one point, teenage girls got their navel pierced more often than their ears. Today that has not changed. Teenage girls still love their belly button rings, but more and more often you see them appear on set in their thirties and over.

This has come into play for a number of reasons. The main reason is that people get older. The same teenagers who had their navel pierced in the 1990s are now in their thirties and have no desire to remove their navel rings. At this point, women are used to having their navel pierced and see no reason to quit just because they’ve hit the big 3-0.

Another reason belly button rings are narrowing the age gap has to do with the way society views ages. If forty is the new thirty, then thirty is the new twenty-one, and at twenty-one most women have no problem getting their navel pierced. In fact, they are often just as proud to wear them as teenagers, if not prouder. As women age, they tend to be more confident in all aspects of their lives. Instead of having belly button rings because your friends have them, they have them because they like them.

One of the other big reasons belly button rings can be found in women in their thirties and forties has to do with the health craze that still hits the world. People care more about how they look and feel today than they did thirty years ago. This means that people look just as good, if not better, in their thirties than they did in their teens. So of course they want a chance to show off their belly button rings and look and feel younger.

All of these reasons, combined with the natural confidence that comes with age, make belly button rings no longer just a “teen thing”. Instead, they are now a beautiful thing at any age.
