circle17 Matchmaking: Shaping a better future together

respACT and AustrianStartups unite the sustainability scene and the start-up world for the 17 sustainability goals

Vienna (OTS) – “Innovative approaches to solving the current climate and corona crisis are already available or are emerging. You just have to find them, support them accordingly and courageously put them into practice “, respACT managing director Daniela Knieling is convinced. The aim of circle17 matchmaking is therefore to bring forward-looking start-ups together with committed decision-makers for partnerships in line with the UN sustainability goals.

Pulling in the same direction

The climate and corona crisis show how closely companies are connected to their environment and that long-term solutions are needed for successful business. The challenges of the current time can only be mastered together. “In the case of sustainable solutions in particular, diverse perspectives and creative approaches are required. Start-ups are often the missing piece of the puzzle for companies and organizations on the way to an environmentally friendly and social transformation, ” explains Hannah Wundsam, Co-Managing Director of AustrianStartups. Start-ups benefit from experienced partners at their side and bring a breath of fresh air to established organizations through dynamic solutions. On March 18, 2021, sustainably committed start-ups will meet companies, the public sector, investors, universities and start-up programs at the virtual circle17 matchmaking. An inspiring panel discussion at the start of the event encourages effective networking.

The SDGs as a driver of innovation

With circle17, the two non-profit organizations AustrianStartups and respACT put the UN sustainability goals in the foreground as a source for entrepreneurial innovations. After successful workshops, an impacton and coaching sessions, matchmaking is now another milestone in the circle17 program. Up to 200 participants, mostly from Austria, are expected. Through an online networking platform, the participants can contact each other independently and find specifically interested conversation partners. Start-ups present themselves at virtual market stalls and present their business models in the areas of energy, climate, environment, people and security, sustainable value chains, products and services and financing.
