Downhill training at the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide canceled

As on Monday, the two planned downhill training sessions for women and men at the Alpine Ski World Cup finals in Lenzerheide were canceled on Tuesday. After the fresh snow the day before, the slope conditions and the strong wind again did not allow training, now the organizers are challenged.

In order to save the descents scheduled for Wednesday, the training must be completed beforehand. If the weather permits, a mammoth program awaits the organizers and racers on Wednesday.

In the men’s downhill world cup, Beat Feuz from Switzerland leads 68 points ahead of Matthias Mayer from Carinthia, while Italian Sofia Goggia is 70 points ahead of defending champion Corinne Suter from Switzerland in the women’s category. Cancellation of the descents would also affect the starting positions in the overall World Cup and give Alexis Pinturault (FRA) an advantage over Marco Odermatt (SUI) and Petra Vlhova (SVK) over Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI).
