Have you been wondering what it takes to become an entrepreneur? Do you think you might have the qualities to become one? Or are you sure you are on the path to becoming an entrepreneur? Let’s examine what it takes to develop, create and have entrepreneurial skills.
According to Wikipedia, an entrepreneur is “an owner or manager of a business enterprise who makes money through risk and initiative.” The word originally comes from French in the 19th century and was used in the context of taking over a company and bridging the gap between capital and labor. It can be said that an entrepreneur acts as an intermediary and displaces economic resources from the basic level to achieve higher productivity. In today’s parlance, many people would like to be entrepreneurs, but aren’t sure how to go about it.
A friend and business associate found a wonderful photo of a little boy with a clenched fist and a face with the following words on it:
“Working hard in school to get an education, leaving college with piles of debt, then continuing to work hard with a JOB to make someone else rich. Those are fighting words, Mom and Dad!… I’m going to become an entrepreneur!”
That certainly makes me wonder why more people don’t develop entrepreneurial skills and declare “I’m an entrepreneur.”
More and more people are disillusioned with “the work” they do day after day and are not satisfied with their income. Not only are they dissatisfied with their income, but they feel that they are not valued for the contributions they make to your company. Many employers don’t feel it’s important to compliment staff on their value to the company. This makes people feel disenchanted with their work!
What do you need to do to break out of this cycle as shown in the photo above? Many turn to the Internet to create a business where you are your own boss. Many are finding that if they take responsibility for their own destiny, they will work harder, stay focused, and produce positive results. This is how an entrepreneur thinks and acts; becoming an entrepreneur should be your mantra.
What are the ways an individual can become an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur looks for opportunities to make a difference and creates them; Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you!
If you have the desire to act, then you must follow your instincts and do it. Taking action gives you the stability to be on the path to becoming an entrepreneur. Use your influence when you can and feel good about your ideas and the results. Entrepreneurs enjoy helping others and making them become entrepreneurs too.
An entrepreneur must be comfortable taking risks and finding new and innovative ways to solve problems. If you examine the few points that I have suggested in this article, I am sure that they will give you the impetus to become an entrepreneur. Here is your success!
