According to ÖAMTC is already from 11 a.m. with a ring lock from the Urania to the Ringturm due to the planned formation of a human chain there. Environmental NGOs, AK and ÖGB support the strike.
According to the environmental movement, stewards will be in the human chain planned for three kilometers for Corona-compliant distances and wearing FFP2 masks – “mouth-nose-climate protection” applies. The organizers announced that they would do a corona test before the strike. From the Schottentor to Karlsplatz and the Stubentor, there will be speeches and live music. Other meeting points are the underground stations at the Volkstheater and Stadtpark. Although the corona pandemic makes political protest more difficult, further actions for climate justice are to take place across Austria. The organizers want to protest in more than 50 countries around the world against the promotion of fossil fuels and what they consider to be a misguided climate policy.
