Digital event “Patient representatives as technical experts” March 19, 2021

On March 19, 2021, from 11 a.m. onwards, the BVSHOE will present the results of the survey “Information needs of patient organizations in Austria” via livestream from brutkasten.

Vienna (OTS) – Much has been achieved in the three years since the Federal Association of Self-Help Austria (BVSHOE) was founded. The demand for more co-determination and timely involvement of patients continues unabated. The BVSHOE initiated a survey, the project was supported by the Joint Standing Committee “Patient Advocacy” of FOPI (Forum of the Research-Based Pharmaceutical Industry) and PHARMIG (Association of the Austrian Pharmaceutical Industry).

The current medupha survey of patient organizations and self-help groups clearly shows that patient representatives need better access to scientific information and studies, greater financial and human resources and an appreciative exchange as an equal partner in the health care system.
