Google, Amazon and Co: Wikipedia is now asking big tech companies to pay
There are probably few people who have never used the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. But despite its great popularity, the service is dependent on individual donations and grants. Big tech companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple use the almost endless information available there for their platforms and virtual assistants that use the service as a free cheat sheet. With the launch of a commercial version called Wikimedia Enterprise, these same corporations are now to be asked to pay.
