
Interview with KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer: “The most important currency for the sport is the feedback from the fans”
After joining MotoGP in 2017, KTM has developed into a top team at record speed. After three victories last season, the Austrian manufacturer wants to get closer to its ultimate goal in 2021: winning the world championship. In an interview with the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, Pit Beirer, Head of Motorsport at KTM, talks about the challenges posed by the pandemic, how long KTM will stay in MotoGP and his greatest wishes for the 2021 season, which starts on March 28th in Qatar.

How did you spend the winter break after the most successful season for KTM in MotoGP? Pit Beirer: The services gave us a lot of pleasure. Unfortunately, we couldn’t really celebrate the successes because personal contact was difficult due to the corona pandemic.
What is the target for 2021? We celebrated three unexpected victories last season. This season we want to be in the top 5 regularly and be on the podium more often.
