Students like to ask me, “Great Master, how did you organize your studies in the past? I always find myself confused and out of time.” With such a large volume of notes and tutorials that students have to go through, it’s no wonder why so many students face this problem.
Well, here are some tips to organize your studies.
1) Decide that you are going to ride the wave, instead of drowning
If you are not organized, the challenges you will face can easily bring you down. However, once he’s made the decision to stay in charge of organizing his studies, he’ll be in a much stronger position to ride the waves.
2) Make lists
Don’t list vague tasks like “study history.” Be as specific as possible, such as “study page 100-120 of your history textbook.” Once you’ve made them, cross them off your list. Trust me, it feels very satisfying when you do that.
3) Add each task you are given to your list
Have a disciplined system for updating your to-do list. Pay attention to deadlines and rank them in priority.
4) Review your list regularly
When you find that something is becoming more important, update its priority on your list.
5) Incorporate variety in your study
If you’re going to spend an entire night studying, don’t limit yourself to mulling over a single task for a long time. Spend a little time doing and reviewing something else. A little change is just as good as a break, as it gives your brain a variety of exercises.
6) Take advantage of free time
You will always find free moments, even if it is your peak period. It can be waiting for a bus, sitting on a train, waiting for someone, etc. Use this time to jot down some important ideas from the last lesson. You will be surprised how productive these spare moments can be!
7) Have something with you that you can do, wherever you go
Something small like a notebook will do. There is no use carrying all your books and notes around. The notebook should contain some notes that you have made yourself. When you plan a rehearsal, take your rehearsal plan with you wherever you go. Organize your ideas and write down the key ideas and phrases that come to mind,
8) Do not work alone in your favorite place
When it becomes a habit, it becomes an excuse not to work elsewhere. Be flexible on your location.
9) Practice answering questions right after your teacher has read the chapter.
This is a great way to stay ahead of your class. Be proactive in your studies!
10) Work with the right students
The right students are productive students who can guide you instead of distract you. Working on your own can cause massive sleep. When working in a productive group, your dream group is drastically reduced. Every time you explain something to your friend, you get a valuable learning experience yourself!
