Large corporations spend billions each year on market research to identify new trends, attractive niches and systems to generate money. The great news is that you can benefit from all this research for FREE. Here are 11 ways:
1. clickbank.com. Go to clickbank.com and select a category, then sort by severity. Gravity is a proprietary measure used by Clickbank that takes into account the popularity of the product. This will bring you Clickbank’s best selling information products. Once you find the best Gravity products, run the product through cbtrends.com to see if the product is gaining or losing popularity.
two. barnesandnoble.com. Go to this site and search for “bestsellers”. Also, check your nearest Barnes and Noble for books on display near the entrance.
3. books for fools. Go to dummies.com and browse. Keep in mind that if the niche was attractive enough for “Dummies” publishers to make a book about it, it’s attractive enough for you. You can benefit from millions of dollars of market research.
Four. amazon.com. Clear your cookies from your browser and go to Amazon.com. Don’t sign in. You want to be a new visitor in the eyes of Amazon. As you browse through the various categories, Amazon will provide you with the best-selling products. Now you can see what’s hot and become an Amazon affiliate or affiliate through other networks.
5. journals. On Amazon, you can also go to the magazine section and search through the various categories. Amazon will return the best magazines in each category (niche). Go to Magazine.com to find magazines in hundreds of niches. You can also look at consumer reporting magazines at the bookstore or library. Browse and view full page ads. A marketer would not run a full page ad unless the niche has been thoroughly tested.
6.google groups. Go to groups.google.com. Look for groups with the most subscribers. Browse the posts for a while and see what people are complaining about or raving about.
7. eBay. Go to pulse.eBay.com and see what are the best selling products on eBay.
8. yahoo.com. Visit buzz.yahoo.com.
9. infomercials. See infomercials. Instead of walking through them with the remote, watch them for a few minutes. Make a list of what is for sale. Millions are spent researching trends before millions more are spent producing infomercials and buying media time.
10 store clerks. Talk to store employees. Next time you’re in the store, ask the clerk helping you “what’s the hottest selling item these days?” Obviously don’t go in and ask. Browse a bit first. But don’t be shy. Most respond gladly and often get emotional even at the mention of it.
eleven Fairs. Go to as many local trade shows as possible. Go to a booth and let the person present your product. During the conversation, when the moment seems appropriate, ask, “So, besides what you’re selling, what else seem to be the best-selling products at the fair?”
You can carry out many of these methods in a weekend and have a great list to start reducing using the methods we will discuss later. Once you identify the niche or money making system that you will be targeting, you can create products or act as an affiliate.
