Many who struggle with their weight have turned to weight loss hypnosis.
During hypnosis, behavioral changes can be suggested to the subconscious, where our cravings and reaction to emotions originate.
While hypnosis was originally intended as a tool to be used in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy, it was quickly realized that it could be used to modify a wide variety of behavioral problems, including smoking and weight loss.
While there aren’t enough scientific studies to prove or disprove the effectiveness of hypnosis, the general consensus is that it can help with overeating problems to some degree.
However, it remains that this type of behavioral therapy will work in three main areas of our lives that it can work on without the help of hypnotherapy.
Eat better. Going “on a diet” may work in the short term, but in the long term, it’s an overall change in lifestyle in regards to the foods you eat that will make all the difference.
Small changes made over time can contribute to weight loss that is easier to maintain. The key is to make your changes permanent and possible.
Completely eliminating any food group is a difficult change to sustain, but switching from whole milk to 1% or less, for example, is more likely to have long-lasting results.
Cutting back on processed foods, sugars and syrups (including soft drinks), and alcohol will also show big results on your scale. Hypnosis and subliminal messages can help make your mind more receptive to these gradual, long-term changes.
Moving More. Like many people, you may like the word “exercise.” The good news is that you just need to think of it as moving more. During your day, there are plenty of opportunities to move. When a commercial comes on, you can either walk on the spot or jog in circles around your living room. Or do squats, push-ups, or leg raises.
While on the phone, you can do the same, and when you’re in public, you can park further away from the store and use the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible.
Take a short walk after dinner or during your lunch hour. Getting outside and moving around during these times will signal that your mealtime ends earlier and will help you burn calories.
Again, you can try subliminal or hypnotherapy methods to make your mind more receptive to these small changes, which are crucial for lasting success.
Stress less. Let’s face it: stress is a big hurdle in the battle against the bulge. For those of us who are driven to eat emotions, daily personal stress can wreak havoc.
Even if you don’t eat in response to emotions, stress can affect your diet by disrupting how your metabolism works. If you sleep less, get more depressed, or run erratically and eat nothing, then you are more likely to find yourself tired, bloated, and overweight. But working from a place of mental stillness, through a hypnosis technique, can help you calm your mind and manage your stress.
Simple changes made now and throughout the year will add up to the pounds lost and a healthier you. Weight loss hypnosis can help you strengthen your willpower and even help you modify some of your behaviors. The only way to know if weight loss hypnosis will work for you is to try it.
